The ERSW Awards Ball 2009
Saturday 21st November marked the eleventh anniversary of the Annual Epsom Owners & Trainers Ball.
Although the weather was less than perfect, this didn’t mar the festivities in any way and the event was great success.
Due to the capacity of the new venue (Diomed Suite in the Duchess’ Stand) and everyone’s enthusiasm and commitment, a record number of guests were hosted at this year’s event and over £15K was raised for the Epsom Training & Development Fund.
The night commenced with a champagne reception in the Lammtarra Room (which was complete with a mysterious lifelike jockey statue) and followed a similar format to previous events, with a 4-course meal, Auction, Raffle and Awards Ceremony, followed by dancing and a fun casino. James Thomas, of Attwood Thomas photography was in residence all night, and he and his assistants were kept very busy, not least by a certain young man who made it his aim to have his photo taken with every lady present – even the Mayor!
